Richard Bland College boasts a highly acclaimed Honors program (with full tuition scholarships for highly qualified students), Statesman Athletics, the Student Success Center, and our unique Promise Scholars program that provides a seamless pathway to baccalaureate degrees at partner institutions like W&M, UVa, UofR and many others.
You will have the option of studying in modern classrooms and labs, online, or a hybrid combination that best accommodates your life and work schedule. Whether you commute or reside on campus, you will have the benefit of an expansive outdoor learning environment that features vast lawns, an Asian water garden and Virginia’s oldest and largest pecan grove. Also, as part of the Greater Richmond area, RBC offers a vibrant local arts and culture scene that is accessible via the Petersburg Area Transit bus stop.

The Guided Pathways for Success (GPS) program assigns you a Learner Mentor who will be the advisor, advocate, and guide to your academic destination—whether that’s a career credential or a college degree. RBC’s personalized, “one size fits one” support system will enhance your educational experience and, at the same time, streamline your pathway to success.
